Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your guide and begin the journey to Kibale Forest National Park, located in western Uganda. The scenic drive takes approximately 6-7 hours, passing through rolling hills, lush tea plantations, and vibrant local villages. Along the way, you can stop in Fort Portal, a charming town known for its beautiful landscapes and cultural sites. Upon arrival at Kibale, check in to your lodge and relax. You may choose to explore the surroundings or simply enjoy the breathtaking views of the forest. In the evening, have dinner at your lodge and prepare for the exciting chimpanzee trekking experience the next day.

After an early breakfast, head to the Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by a ranger guide, venture deep into the dense tropical forest, searching for one of Uganda’s largest chimpanzee populations. The trek can last between 1-3 hours, depending on the location of the chimps. Once you find them, you’ll have one hour to observe and photograph them in their natural habitat, watching their playful interactions and social behaviors.

After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you can choose to visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run conservation area famous for its diverse birdlife, primates, and beautiful swamp trails. This is an excellent opportunity for nature lovers and birdwatchers. Later in the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Wake up early for a leisurely breakfast and enjoy your last moments in the beautiful Kibale Forest region. After checking out of your lodge, begin your journey back to Entebbe, driving through Uganda’s scenic countryside. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to stop at Fort Portal town for souvenirs or a visit to a local tea plantation. Arrive in Entebbe in the afternoon and, if time allows, explore attractions like the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (Entebbe Zoo) or relax by the shores of Lake Victoria. Later, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable chimpanzee trekking adventure in Uganda.
